5 sweet years

I am still choosing you over everyone else.
In bearded face & in shaved.
In bad moods or peaceful quiet.
For chips & salsa dinner or a feast.
With our babies or by ourselves.
'Til death parts us.

Love, Megs

more summer love

Photos from the bride, taken the morning after her wedding. Possibly taken by the groom's cousin; I will credit the source when I have his name, it was either Norman or Nelson? Edit: These were taken by the bride's sister Sharon! She wore the cutest retro dress on Saturday.

All photos compliments of Sang You Photography, look him up if you need a pro in the 757.

So full of family & handmade goodness! We were honored to play & sing in a beach-town wedding this weekend, for two of the finest folks we know. Instead of a traditional shower, the bride chose to have an event (a week before the wedding) where all the guests come ready to follow diy instructions & make decor, signage & bring gifts of pretty panties. Very fun & yielding beautiful results, this choice let us all into her wedding-plan-world & took the pressure off the actual event weekend. I also loved that there was no wedding party, just the bride & groom, so everyone had a great time & lent a hand where they could!

gone fishing

Packing guitar & banjo, sunglasses, baby smoothies & salty snacks. Headed south for beach-side wedding festivities & hopefully a satiating of seafood withdrawal in my belly. This time Elijah will attend with us & watch us play music; we'll see how that goes.

eat. drink. marry.

On a farm dense with humidity, beneath Jurassic trees, the Tobins wed. The groom's men rocked suspenders & a vivid tangerine moon appeared while we danced until my knee became swollen. Success!

anniversary

Marriage feels under-celebrated around these parts. Divorces are subjects of copious gossip; weddings have become elaborate events where no expense is spared. But somehow parties to honor a couple's marriage, those are reserved for grandparents only? There could be a renewed place for celebration at the 5 or 10-year mark, like school reunions, where party-goers show appreciation & encouragement in the earlier years. Wouldn't that be amazing for our children to be a part of, while they still live in our home? If I could host such a party, the invite would be like so:

All this to say Happy Anniversary, sweet love! I'm delighted to be your wife, & I treasure each of our days together.
